This exceptional antique Peking rug, woven around 1900, showcases the serene refinement and symbolic artistry characteristic of the best Chinese workshop weaving from the late Qing period. Scattered elegantly across the open field are auspicious Chinese motifs—including censers, scholar’s objects, altar vessels, and ceremonial symbols—each rendered in warm tones of ivory, camel, caramel, and soft indigo.
