The Bakhtiari live in the highlands of the Zagros Mountains and in small villages south-west of Isfahan.
They use wool from grazing sheep, which is rich in lanolin (wool oil) and shiny, and is considered the best wool in Persia. These beautiful Bakhtiari rugs are a collector's item among rug collecting experts.
